Grant Applicants & Recipients
We understand the courage it takes to rebuild after hardship. Across the country, widespread layoffs have left many families and individuals searching for stability and purpose. United Volunteer Philanthropist (UVP) was created to help low-income residents and displaced workers take meaningful steps toward rebuilding their lives through local opportunity and community support.
Through Student Volunteer Philanthropists (SVPs), FMH responsibly distributes grants in the form of startup capital — empowering recipients to become social entrepreneurs who can restore their livelihoods while improving their communities. These grants are funded by local donors contributing to the honorariums of SVPs, each representing a specific social cause.
This shared model connects compassion with accountability: donors invest in the causes they care about, SVPs manage and verify the impact, and recipients use their startup capital to rebuild, create, and sustain long-term success.
